Alright, I got it working... for now. I decided to go nuts and just completely reheat EVERY SOLDER POINT! On many occasions I even put a little drop of solder on my iron and dripped it ever so carefully onto the pins. However, when I put my needle back on (just pull it straight off verrry carefully) it jumps up to 20mph with ignition power, so I took my plastic gauge cover back off and plugged the cluster back in. I put ignition power on, then slid my needle on right at 0mph. I'll try to report back if this became my permanent solution. Thanks everyone for your help with this! This thread helped. http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/technical/view/1106786/Some-info-for-DIYer-gauge-cluster-repair.html
